I am participating in a 12 week weight loss challenge where $500 is at stake… yup, it’s a big one! So that’s putting a little fire under my tush to get serious and work hard at my self care goals.
In the past week, I’ve gone to two OrangeTheory classes - a 60-minute HIIT program that I am OBSESSED with. I can’t wait to write a blog post all about it since it’s changed my mindset about working out. I’ve also kept a food journal for the past week, writing down everything that I’ve eaten. As a former Weight Watcher, I’ve found tracking my food intake works best for me, as it makes me think twice about what I’m putting into my mouth. Since doing it, I haven’t hit the work candy dish once! While I haven’t been perfect (hello, Wendy’s and two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc!), it’s definitely kept me accountable. It’s even pushed me to prepare or order simple meals - less to write down!
All of this hard work and I was still in shock at my weigh in this morning. 5lbs down from last week?! I got on and off the scale 5 times just to be sure.
Now is the time for me to focus and prepare. I have been down this road far too many times, where early success are slowly crept up on by self doubt. Will I see 5lbs every week? No. Maybe never again. But that’s okay. As Aristotle said - “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”
